Trunk is seeking a highly skilled Android Engineer with React experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with either Kotlin or Java programming languages, be proficient in using Android Studio, and have experience with React. Experience with Firebase as a back end is also required.

As an Android Engineer at Trunk, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications with React for our products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and fixing bugs in existing code.

​

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of Android development best practices and a track record of delivering successful applications with React. You should be able to work independently with excellent problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

​

  • ​B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of work experience

  • 2+ years of software development experience

  • 2+ years of Android development experience with React

  • Solid experience interacting with REST APIs

  • Solid experience with the Firebase SDK and React

  • Solid understanding of Java/Kotlin

  • Solid understanding of architecture patterns, namely MVC, MVVM and MVI

  • Solid understanding of Android threading and processing

  • Experience with profiling UI, memory, and threading in Android and React

  • Experience with building Android SDKs with React

  • Previously published application(s) to Google Play Store

  • Have Github project(s) or contribute to open source communities

  • Anyone that likes being in the office and interacting with others in person to get things done will be ideal

  • You have a passion for your craft that drives you to improve systems and code without being explicitly told.
